  • The Magnuson Children’s Garden Committee, founded in 2001 by volunteer landscape professionals Cindy Hazard, Chris Pfeiffer, Lisa Port, and multiple staff members from Children’s Hospital. This group coordinated the design and creation of the garden from 2001-03, and has provided hundreds of volunteer hours coordinating the garden’s maintenance and expansion in the years since. Emily Bishton is the current committee chair.
  • The Magnuson Nature Docent Program, which includes members of the King Co. Master Gardener Foundation, Washington Native Plant Society, Seattle Audubon, and others. Since 2011, these dedicated and talented volunteers have helped make our nature programs sustainable by giving many hundreds of hours of assistance in planning, preparation, teaching, and stewardship.
  • The staff of Magnuson Community Center, especially Coordinator Marc Hoffman, recreation assistants Joanna Li and Cliff Evert, and former Coordinator Karla Withrow, who have provided nature program and project coordination, advice, and unwavering support for the past 12 years.
  • The Seattle Works HandsOn Leadership Team of Liz Morris, Tara Smith, and Sanjeeb Das provided hundreds of hours of volunteer time spent in 2012 and 2013, planning and coordinating stewardship and education events, and fundraising for the Resource Conservation Landscape project. San continues to volunteer many hours each year for website improvements!
  • Nick Millward of City Rain provided expert consultation and assistance on the Resource Conservation Landscape drip irrigation system.
  • Eddie Bauer Inc. provided the grant to Magnuson Park that funded the creation of the Bird-friendly Landscape from 2007-2009.
  • The “Pocket Gophers” a Seattle YMCA Y-Guides group, especially the Van Newkirk family and the Clark family, who helped create and steward the Bird-friendly Landscape and the Resource Conservation Landscape, and Magnuson Children’s Garden’s new food garden.
  • Girl Scout troop #40908, who participated in stewardship projects in the Children’s Garden from 2012-2015.
  • Campfire Group #912 “Tanda Kani Ka Ta” from St. Luke’s School in Shoreline, who helped create the Bird-friendly Landscape and provided stewardship for the Children’s Garden from 2009-2012.
